Description

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 large eggs

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup chopped toasted pecans

1/2 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a saucepan, melt butter and mix in brown sugar until smooth.

3. Whisk in eggs one at a time, then stir in maple syrup.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.

5. Gently mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.

6. Fold in toasted pecans evenly.

7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread it evenly.

8. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, sub 1/4 cup of flour with whole wheat flour.
