Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Chop the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and mushrooms.
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened (2-3 minutes). Then add bell peppers and mushrooms; cook until softened (3-5 minutes).
- Add Rice and Spices: Stir in rice and spices, toasting briefly (about 1 minute).
- Pour in Broth: Add beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Cheesy Goodness: Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and let melt for about 5 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with sour cream, avocado, or cilantro, and serve hot.
Notes
For added richness, use butter instead of olive oil. Adjust spice levels according to taste.
