Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Pasta of your choice for serving
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add the broccoli and blanch for about 2 minutes. Remove and set aside in an ice bath.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with nutmeg.
- Return the shrimp and blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss to combine, letting the flavors meld for a few minutes.
- Serve over freshly cooked pasta and garnish with additional Parmesan and parsley.
Notes
Reserve some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
