Instructions
- Chop the bacon into small pieces and sauté in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain excess fat, retaining some for flavor.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook slowly until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked bacon, brown sugar, bourbon, and vinegar. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Optionally pulse the mixture in a food processor for a smoother consistency. Allow to cool.
- Slice a baguette, brush with olive oil, and bake at 375°F until golden, about 10 minutes.
