Description

A delightful twist on classic stroganoff featuring spicy, blackened shrimp tossed in a creamy sauce with noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, deveined
  • 8 ounces cremini or shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 8 ounces egg noodles (or whole wheat/gluten-free pasta)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean and devein the shrimp, patting them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
  3. In a hot skillet, melt butter and coat the pan. Sprinkle the spice blend on the shrimp and sear in the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.
  4. Remove shrimp and sauté sliced mushrooms in same skillet until tender.
  5. Pour in the broth, scraping up any bits from the pan. Add sour cream and stir to create a sauce.
  6. Toss in the shrimp and cooked noodles until combined.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For lighter options, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. This dish can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to maintain texture.
