Description
A luscious Black Forest Cheesecake with layers of creamy cheese, tart cherries, and a rich chocolate crust, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15 oz) Chocolate Oreos, crushed
- 1/2 cup unsalted Butter, melted
- 16 oz Full-fat Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 3 large Eggs
- 2 cups Sweet Cherries, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup Whipped Cream, for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by crushing the Chocolate Oreos in a food processor and mixing with melted butter. Press into the bottom of a springform pan and pre-bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. Cool.
- Mix the filling by beating cream cheese until smooth, then adding sugar, sour cream, eggs, and cocoa powder. Blend until creamy.
- Layer half of the cheesecake batter over the crust, add half of the cherries, and then pour the remaining batter on top. Gently press in leftover cherries.
- Bake in a preheated water bath at 325°F (160°C) for 60-70 minutes or until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
- Cool completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. Decorate with whipped cream and chocolate shavings before serving.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best mixing results. Don’t skip the water bath for a creamy texture.
