Description

A comforting and flavorful baked chicken dish with lemon and butter, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs or breasts
  • Unsalted butter (or olive oil for a lighter version)
  • Fresh lemons (zest and juice)
  • Fresh garlic cloves (or garlic powder as a substitute)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (dried herbs can work too)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, then stir in lemon zest, juice, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place chicken in a baking dish and pour lemon butter sauce over it, reserving some for basting.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Baste chicken halfway through cooking; broil for the last 2-3 minutes for a crispy finish.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding sautéed mushrooms during the last ten minutes of baking for an earthy touch.
