Ingredients

  • 1½ teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups lukewarm water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 1½ teaspoons of sea salt, and 1 teaspoon of active dry yeast. Gradually stir in 1½ cups of lukewarm water until all the flour is absorbed.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours until bubbly and doubled in size.
  3. Lightly flour a work surface and gently turn the dough onto it. Form it into a round shape with floured hands.
  4. Transfer the loaf onto a piece of parchment paper, cover it loosely, and let it rise again for 1 to 2 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C), placing a Dutch oven with its lid inside.
  6. Once heated, remove the pot, place the dough inside with parchment paper, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
