Description

Delicious and easy-to-make bread rolls with a crispy crust and chewy interior, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (or Bread Flour)
  • 1 ½ cups Warm Water
  • 2 ¼ tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • Optional Add-ins: Fresh herbs, roasted garlic, or cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. Add salt and gradually mix in the flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Kneading: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  4. Shaping Rolls: Punch the dough down, divide it into 8-10 equal portions, and shape each into a smooth round ball.
  5. Second Rise: Place rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffed up.
  6. Baking: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Make a shallow cut on top of each roll and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cooling: Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Use a small dish of water in the oven to create steam for a crispier crust.
